New stuff going on...

Sorry we have not posted in a while. We have been CRAZY busy over the past few months with different projects. Expect to see new footage hitting the site very soon!  Any suggestions or request?  Let us know!

Cool Stuff

So, we have been doing a lot of filming lately, but not a lot of posting.  We are going to change that soon.  This video is a representation of some of the stuff that we have been up to lately.

There are clips from some of the Charleston, SC trip.  The marsh footage was directed by my wonderful wife and includes some beautiful footage.  There is also a GREAT playground that was built at James Island County Park.  It is amazing and needs to be promoted.  I wish some of the parks around us would learn from them.  Expect more footage from this area soon.

One of the most exciting shoots had to be downtown Charlotte, NC.  The Panther's stadium is always a favorite attraction.  Mix that with a flying camera platform and the beautiful Charlotte skyline and what more could you say.  It was a tiny bit intimidating with some of the obstacles in the flight path, but my co-pilot wife is the greatest and she made sure we were in the green!

Next stop on our tour is a beautiful piece of architecture in Gastonia, NC, where we live.  Rhonda had seen the building the other day and said, "We have to go back get that one!"  Well, the opportunity hit and we set up shop near the pavilion downtown and got some great shots of the cornice work and old style construction.  They just don't seem to build the beauty into things they once did.

The trains I found by accident the other day while driving into the office.  I took a short cut and saw them sitting on the spur.  I had to go a grab some footage, and to tell you the truth I want a bunch more.  Don't know the complete story behind why, where and how long, but they are amazing to me.  I have always been fascinated by trains.  Tweetsie, we are coming for you soon!  If you don't know what that means, just keep checking back here.

Almost had a Carowinds shoot, but it has not been finalized or scheduled.  For now, we are working around weather and winds.

The ending shots of Maddie are my most cherished!  She seems to be in a bunch of the videos and I love having her with Rhonda and I as we fly!

Not included in this video is some of the work we have been doing for KOA & Jelly Stone Parks.   Campgrounds, take note!  We love doing campground footage (one of our favorite clients).

James Island & Folly Beach, SC

So, we travelled to James Island, in South Carolina to do a bit of flying.  It was great!  Had a wonderful experience (and more footage will be coming from this area soon).  If you live in this area and need some footage, contact us and we will set it up for our next trip down.  We stayed on James Island and were all over Folly Beach from one end to the other.  Thanks to Rita's on Folly beach we got some great burgers!  The Charleston Crab House gave Rhonda a much needed low country boil, but the winner in my heart (I think all of us loved it, even Maddie) was Cory's Grilled Cheese!  You need to try it if you are ever in the area.  Cory is a laid back restauranteur who knows how to make a sammich!  It was excellent and saw us eating there 3 meals in 3 days!  We will be continuing our tour and are glad that you've joined us!  Check back soon!

Church Flyover

Just a short video of a church building in Gastonia, NC. Lots more footage gathered, but wanted to share this with you.

A beautiful day to fly!  Build in 1931, the High Shoals Bridge has seen its share of traffic.  After years of service it was shut down in 1983 and a new bridge constructed right beside it.  It is a bit off the beaten path, but that is what we like.  When they finished the "new" 321 route from Gastonia to parts north, the "old" 321 lost its share of traffic.  Now, only a privileged few who choose to venture down the scenic routes will see this wonderful old Pennsylvania Through Truss structure.  As age takes its toll, these incredible finds get more and more rare.  Enjoy this short fly around!

The Alien Tour Guide Blog is an extension of APV4U.com to chronicle our travels and allow us to share information about different locations where we shoot.  A behind the scenes, if you will, with a twist.  We hope you enjoy it and check back often!

This shot is from our shoot at Jellystone Park in Marion, NC.  The campground is really great, but the family that runs this place is absolutely wonderful!  They make the place!  We shot footage during Memorial Day weekend and can't wait to go back and film more of this wonderful location. (It is being scheduled now and we will bring you more when it happens.)
